Viewing your Webstats

Did you know you can view statistics of how many people have visited your website? You can also see where they came from, and how they found you. All of these statistics can be broken down month-by-month, and are available to you from any web browser.

To access these features, log-in to our WebsiteOS. In addition to accessing your stats, you can administer your email accounts from here.

1. Go to http://hosting.bcweb.net/OS4/
2. Type in your domain. For example, if your website is http://www.website.com, just type in website.com
3. Type in your hosting password. If you don’t know your hosting password, please contact BC Web to obtain it.

Once you are logged in, the next page you’ll see will look similar to this. Click on Statistics on the left hand side (circled below).

After you click on Statistics, you’ll see a link to Web Stats in the bottom box on the left hand side. Click this, and then click on “Create Report” or “Update Report” button. After this, you can click on “Display Report” to view your site statistics.

The Most Important Web Stats:

1. the key number is the number of Visits – this shows how many people actually visited your site. Hits show the number of files accessed – for instance, every picture on one page of your site counts as a Hit.
2. Top URL’s show the most popular pages on your sites. Top Entry Pages shows the pages that people first hit on your site.
3. Top Referrers is one of the most important stats. It shows how people are finding your site. Usually you’ll see a mix of pages that link to you, and search engines.
4. Top Search Strings shows a sample of what people are typing in to search engines to find your site.
5. Usage by Country is interesting, but keep in mind that due to the “looseness” of the Internet, it may not be entirely accurate.
